Brad Pitt threatens legal action over links to Straight Pride parade

Brad Pitt threatens legal action over links to Straight Pride parade

As pride month gets underway, marking the triumphs and struggles of the LGBTQ community, calls for a "Straight Pride" parade in Boston have sparked outrage on social media.

The U.S. organisers of a "Straight Pride" event in Boston planned for August sparked outrage on Wednesday after saying on their website that "straight people are an oppressed majority". "I'm gay and I'm ok with a straight pride parade", wrote one user on Twitter.

Last week, the club's vice president, Mark Sahady, claimed on Facebook Massachusetts officials were 'working with them.' However, city officials have since dismissed this.

The proposed parade presents itself as an alternative to the annual Gay Pride Parade, describing itself as an opportunity to "celebrate heterosexuality".

However AXE wanted to make it clear that they did not belong on the list, commenting: "We'll be at the parade that matters and this one isn't it". They took offense that Evans used the old trope that people who are homophobic are closeted homosexuals.

In her segment, Lahren blasted Twitter's "social justice warriors" for slamming the concept of the parade after it made national news, saying, "Isn't it amusing how the so-called loving and tolerant leftists and members of the LGBT community demand respect for their events and celebrations but are so quick to diminish and mock groups that they disagree with?" "Whatta ya think? Too on the nose?", he tweeted.

Moreover, the permit was requested by the organizers during Pride month which somewhat serves to disrespect the LGBT+ community.

Yesterday, Super Happy Fun America, which is what the organisation is calling itself, announced that it was using Pitt as its mascot.

The site's homepage now prominently displays an amended version of its previous announcement, redacting the actor's name and declaring the images "censored", while another post, published on Friday, revealed its new mascot as the controversial author and far-right activist Milo Yiannopoulos. "Dad jeans?" Even Captain America's Chris Evans chimed on the affair. He also took issue with those making comparisons for the desire to have a straight pride parade with those who wish to have gay pride parades.
