Klopp: Liverpool won't be haunted by Chelsea ghosts

Klopp: Liverpool won't be haunted by Chelsea ghosts

Since Young shifted to the role of full-time defender, he's had the zeal of a convert when it comes to the more - how shall we put this - "physical" aspects of the game.

Jurgen Klopp has discussed how he hopes his Liverpool side can contain Chelsea star Eden Hazard this weekend.

If you're hoping to see Joe Gomez play for Liverpool again this season you may be left disappointed, with Jurgen Klopp describing the situation as "very hard".

"I spoke to Eden (Hazard) when we were with the national team and he spoke about that (2014) game, not so much about his form and the way he played, but he said Chelsea at Anfield have always done well", he said.

"We know well the risks of this match but we also know that when we are able to play at 100 percent of our potential, we can gain points anywhere". In a one vs one you can't defend him. "On his day he can be the world's best", he said. Few United players were good, but Young was terrible.

"But he has to play against us as well".

But if City slip up in south London, Liverpool can stretch their lead by beating Chelsea in the last major obstacle on their road to the title, with four eminently winnable games remaining.

"The best way to try to make sure he can not shine as he is able to is to avoid passes to him, react a little bit better maybe than other teams did".

City - who ended up beating Liverpool to the title that season - play Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park earlier on Sunday, meaning they could be back on top of the table before Liverpool kick off. But we will try to use the fan power and give them a boost by things we do on the pitch. We have really big targets, that is clear.

Chelsea dented Liverpool's title push with a 2-0 victory at Anfield in the 2013-14 campaign but Sarri warned his third-placed team that they could face a daunting task on Sunday.

Liverpool have condemned a video that appears to show a group of Chelsea supporters singing a discriminatory song about Mohamed Salah as "dangerous and disturbing". "We should not see it as a Chelsea or Liverpool thing", Klopp told reporters on Friday.

"It was a few years ago, but we went there and they had the party ready because they were smashing every team at Anfield", Azpilicueta said.
