President Trump Takes Aim At Mueller AGAIN As Report Release Draws Near

"The Sunday morning missive was a follow up to a much longer social media soliloquy from Saturday, in which the president accused Mueller's team of being "13 Angry Trump hating Dems", whose job ended up being a "total waste of time", after they spent "$30 million" and 22 months investigating every aspect of the president's life and campaign. In that letter, Barr, who consulted with deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein over the Mueller report's conclusions, declined to pursue charges against the president or his allies for "obstruction".

Yet Barr also conceded that Mueller did compile evidence of obstruction, and quoted the special counsel as saying that: "While this report does not conclude that the president committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him".

In a statement on Thursday, Barr defended the decision to release a brief summary letter two days after receiving the report on March 22.

Now that it's clear new Attorney General William Barr, is indeed, little more than a hired gun brought in to take care of Trump's dirty laundry in the Mueller report, we'll see how well his four page summary survives the spin cycle. Besides, the Beltway 500 reasoned, the actual full Mueller Report was coming any day now. He has previously said he did not believe it would be in the public's interest to release the full document in a piecemeal or gradual fashion, and that he did not intend for his letter summarizing Mueller's "principal conclusions" to be an "exhaustive recounting" of the special counsel's investigation.

Mr Barr told Congress members the investigation did not establish that members of Mr Trump's election campaign conspired with Russian Federation, but also did not exonerate the President on obstruction of justice.

Democrats are preparing for a legal battle over releasing the report. "'Look, you made a call on obstruction - did Robert Mueller ask you to make your call or do you think he intended that for Congress?"

Congressional Democrats have indicated they will fight those redactions in court if the subpoena is ignored.

"I will give (Barr) time to change his mind" about releasing a redacted version of the Mueller report, Nadler said at the committee meeting on Thursday.

President Donald Trump resumed his attack on the "Fake News Media" after a brief break to rail on illegal immigration and calling on Mexico and Democrats in Congress to help Republicans "end the terrible, costly and foolish loopholes in our Immigration Laws".
