NCAA: Texas Tech to face Virginia for title

NCAA: Texas Tech to face Virginia for title

Virginia will meet Texas Tech in the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Auburn junior guard Samir Doughty made contact with Guy on the desperation heave in the corner and was whistled for the foul by official James Breeding. After securing his eighth Final Four on Sunday, Michigan State Coach Tom Izzo and his Spartans are no longer playing in march, but they're still cementing his legacy in the halls of the Breslin Center.

Guy made the first two free throws to tie the game, then came out of an Auburn timeout to hit the third that put Virginia ahead.

"I do feel for Auburn, but I feel better for us right now, and I'm just thankful these guys stepped up and played the way we needed to and got through", Bennett said.

"Cassius has done enough to set himself in that same footprint with those guys", Izzo said.

Last night's NCAA Tournament Final Four games delivered all the compelling and controversial action that we could have asked for.

TTU reached the Elite Eight last season before defeating Michigan, Michigan State and Gonzaga in this year's tourney.

"It was great", redshirt senior Norense Odiase said. "I guess somewhere there's a compliment to us that (Beard) kind of believes in the same philosophy which I think is true in any sport".

"It's been a heck of a journey", Mooney said. In games that are tight, contesting 3-point shots has been a strength that has paid dividends in the tournament. But I'll get a chance to look at that myself, and I'll judge it myself.

To be sure, the Texas Tech fans in attendance had plenty of reason to be excited for much of the game. "You know, this is - I'm living the dream right now".

It will meet Virginia in the final round. Despite the absence of the blue bloods like Duke, UNC, and Kentucky, the ratings show that fans were simply glued to the action.

Collins cited Rule 4, Section 39.i, which states, "Verticality applies to a legal position and also to both the offensive and defensive players". During that window, Tech scored four points.

Texas Tech held Michigan State, a team who many considered worthy of a No. 1 seed in the NCAA tournament, to 21 first-half points. As we continue to celebrate, we must do so in a way that does not diminish this incredible moment.
