US Senate Republican wants a special counsel to investigate Trump probe

President Donald Trump says his enemies who did "evil" and "treasonous things" will be under scrutiny after he was absolved of colluding with Russian Federation.

"Although we have confidence that Special Counsel Mueller made the right prosecutorial judgment in these two specific areas - notwithstanding the very public evidence of Trump campaign contact with and willingness to receive support from Russian agents - it will be vital for the country and the Congress to evaluate the full body of evidence collected by the Special Counsel, including all information gathered of a counterintelligence nature", the chairmen said.

"It's hard to find a black cat in a dark room, especially if it isn't there", the President's spokesman Dmitry Peskov commented on the release of a summary of Special Counsel Robert Mueller's report.

Furthermore, Mueller, who spent almost two years investigating allegations that Russian Federation meddled in the 2016 election to help Trump defeat his Democratic opponent Hillary Clinton, did not say whether a crime was committed, instead leaving that determination to the attorney general.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerrold Nadler said he would summon Mr Barr to testify soon "in light of the very concerning discrepancies and final decision making at the justice department".

Mueller's investigation saw 34 people charged, among them six Trump aides and advisers.

And Stephen Lynch, the MA congressman, suggested investigations of Trump could continue well beyond Mueller's purview.

Former U.S. assistant attorney Andy McCarthy said Monday "there was never a collusion case" and that special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation was the result of "political pressure" that will probably continue.

The statement also said Congress needs "the full report and the underlying documents so that the Committees can proceed with their independent work, including oversight and legislating to address any issues the Mueller report may raise". The Special Counsel states that "while this report does not conclude that the President committed a crime, it also does not exonerate him". Mueller reached no conclusion on whether Trump obstructed justice. Last year, then-Attorney General Jeff Sessions tapped U.S. Attorney John Huber to review a range of Republican grievances, including concerns about the FISA warrant.

According to a senior White House official who spoke with the Washington Post, a "feeling of euphoria" overcame Trump staffers on Sunday, as they celebrated what they interpreted as a clean slate from the Mueller investigation.

Barr issued a four page summary of Mueller's findings Sunday. Barr has decided not to bring obstruction of justice charges against Trump to impede the investigation.

Among the president's allies, the outline of the report ― in particular, the finding that Trump and his campaign did not conspire with the Russian government to interfere in the 2016 election ― is being hailed as a triumph for the president.

Mr Graham, who spent the weekend with Mr Trump in Florida, said his committee will investigate the actions of the Justice Department in the Russian Federation investigation, including the FBI's use of the Steele dossier.
