Cowboys, WR Cobb agree to 1-year deal

Cowboys, WR Cobb agree to 1-year deal

While dealing with hamstring woes and a concussion a year ago, Cobb played in just nine games, recording 38 receptions for 383 yards and two touchdowns. The news came after he had visited with Dallas and he will fill a void with the departure of slot receiver Cole Beasley. He recorded 38 catches for 383 yards and two touchdowns in nine games in 2018.

Cobb is 28 and well removed from his best seasons. Coming off a 75 reception, 1,005 yard, seven touchdown season, Cooper has made the Pro Bowl in three of his first four National Football League seasons.

Cobb's arrival could impact the future and/or roles of the remaining receivers on the roster.

Cobb is leaving Green Bay after eight seasons with the Packers, where he recorded 470 career catches for 5,524 yards and 41 touchdowns.

Cobb finishes his run in Green Bay as one of just five players in franchise history to register more than 60 receptions in four consecutive seasons (2014-17). The Cowboys got even younger and guys who weren't on the team the previous year became significant contributors.

While Cobb should bolster the Cowboys' passing game assuming he stays healthy, he wasn't the player some expected the Cowboys to makes news with on Tuesday.

Some of Beasley's production on underneath and over-the-middle routes could also be replaced by tight end Jason Witten, who returned to the Cowboys after spending last season as an analyst on ESPN's "Monday Night Football". "I guess I just miss my friend".

Heading into last season, the biggest question for the Dallas Cowboys was their receiving corps.
