Yup, [SPOILER] Dies In Dark Phoenix, Plus More Deaths To Come?

Yup, [SPOILER] Dies In Dark Phoenix, Plus More Deaths To Come?

X-Men: Dark Phoenix released a brand new trailer today and the lead character Jean Grey played by Sophie Turner can be seen unleashing the full extent her power in the trailer.

After teasing Jean Grey's Phoenix force in "Apocalypse", the Simon Kinberg directed sequel shows her struggling with her powers and eventually embracing it. Smith continues, as we see a shot of a very concerned Professor X (James McAvoy) staring at a levitating, glowing Jean Grey.

During Chastain's interview on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon on Wednesday, she hinted at her character's actions in the movie. "I get to beat up a lot of X-Men in the movie".

In the first trailer that released a few months ago, we saw that after a mission in space went haywire, Jean came back as a changed person and now the X-Men have to band together to save Jean from herself. This latest X-Men adventure will see Jean battling the growing cosmic entity within herself after the team's mission into space takes a awful turn for the worse. But a mysterious force enters her body, and not only makes her infinitely more powerful, but also unstable. She's a mentor figure to Jean, and she stepped into danger to do what she thought was right. Mystique is someone who in our universe has been part of the X-Men and has been part of Magneto's world. This trailer is bad, it makes the movie look awful, and no, I don't think there is a chance the movie turns out any differently. "It's an intense movie".

The second trailer of Dark Phoenix is out.

Already, this sounds like it's heading down the same path as X-Men: The Last Stand with the Dark Phoenix storyline.

And Storm, played by Alexandra Shipp, also articulates her own fears, when she says, 'Sometimes, we want to believe people are something that they are not'. Then it cuts to a scene of the X-Men approaching the powerful telekinetic in a small town.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is set to premiere on June 7.

So even if Disney wasn't buying Fox, this was likely going to be the end for this younger iteration of the X-Men anyway.
