Antonio Brown informs Pittsburgh Steelers he wants to be traded

The star wide receiver tweeted "Thank you SteelerNation" on Tuesday, adding that it's "time to move on and forward" along with the hashtag #NewDemands.

Since Brown is now under contract in Pittsburgh, the only chance of him leaving would be if the team made a decision to move on through a trade or release, which is why it seems likely the Steelers will look at potential teams expressing interest in the receiver.

The 30-year-old Brown has been rumored to be unhappy in Pittsburgh since he was benched for the regular-season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals following a practice dispute with quarterback Ben Roethlisberger. What the Steelers end up doing with Brown could end up having some major ramifications on the receiver market.

The court appearance stems from Brown being caught driving over 100 mph on McKnight Road hours before a game against the Carolina Panthers.

Talent wise, any team would love to bring someone like Brown on board for the 2019 season if they could receive some sort of guarantee that he wouldn't be a headache to deal with. Brown was charged in November for driving his black sports auto over 100 miles per hour in a 45 miles per hour zone. Brown is also second in receptions (837) and touchdowns (74) to Ward (1,000 and 85, respectively). Brown would help the offense, but unless he is willing to sign a new contract with a lower cap hit, his play alone won't make up for all the holes the team won't be able to fill if they commit so much money to the receiver.

Antonio Brown has not been traded nor has he been released.
