Isis missile strike injures two SAS soldiers in Syria

Isis missile strike injures two SAS soldiers in Syria

The Syrian Democratic Forces said on Sunday they had captured Warren Christopher Clark from Houston, Texas, and Zaid Abed al-Hamid during fighting.

The Syrian Democratic Forces announced Sunday it had captured five suspected Islamic State fighters, including Warren Christopher Clark, 34.

The fighters were captured as part of Operation Jazeera Storm, which is charged with liberating the last areas of Syria that remain under ISIS control, Bali's statement said.

Pentagon spokesman Sean Robertson told USA media: "We are aware of open source reports of reportedly American citizens now in custody who were believed to be fighting for Isis".

While almost all of the territory ISIS once claimed Syria has been liberated, and President Donald Trump has called for a withdrawal of Americans from the country in the coming months, the us and its allies continue to battle a remaining pocket of fighters along the Middle Euphrates River Valley.

A cover letter he wrote under the name "Abu Muhammad al-Ameriki" was obtained by the researchers after it had been found in a house in Mosul, Iraq. He had worked as a substitute teacher in Texas before traveling to Saudi Arabia to teach English for two years and then going to Turkey.

The SDF reported capturing two Pakistani citizens in addition to the two Americans and the Irish citizen taken into custody.

Most of the foreign governments refuse to repatriate their citizens who were fighting with ISIS, while Kurdish officials say "they can not detain them (ISIS fighters) forever, calling the global community to "find a solution".

Some 300 Americans tried to leave or did leave the U.S.to fight in Iraq or Syria since the start of the Syrian civil war in 2011, the report said, citing the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

In contrast to what is happening in Iraq, where the Iraqi judicial authorities sentenced more than 300 members of the extremist group, including 100 foreigners to life imprisonment or death, the Kurdish authorities and their local allies in Syria refuse to prosecute captured ISIS fighters while they only prosecute the extremist group local members without carrying out the death penalty.
