Meet Knickers, the cow dubbed Australia's largest steer who's charming the world

Meet Knickers, the cow dubbed Australia's largest steer who's charming the world

Knickers the cow, hailing from Lake Preston, Australia, stands at 6 feet, 4 inches, making him the tallest steer in the country, according to local media outlets.

"You'll put him in a paddock and all the other cattle seem to get attracted to him", Mr Pearson told ABC News.

The farmer said he let Knickers live throughout the years because of his size but eventually realized, "he wasn't stopping growing", BBC News reported.

An animal dubbed Australia's biggest steer has been saved from the slaughterhouse - because he's just too huge to deal with. We kept him on because we thought he had potential to be a big steer but never imagined he'd grow to be this huge, ' he said. If he wants to go for a walk, they follow, if he wants to sit down, they wait around for him to get up.

This may not be the last we hear of Knickers either, with Pearson predicting the giant cow will be around for a few more years to come. But he's very placid, not aggressive, just inquisitive'.

"We have a high turnover of cattle, and he was lucky enough to stay behind", owner Geoff Pearson told the AP.

Knickers the steer is too big to be made into burgers, so he's getting to live out his days on the farm instead. Mr Pearson said that due to his size, Knickers is too big for the abattoir. Bellino, a Chianina ox from Italy, still owns the world record for tallest living steer at a whopping six-foot-seven-inches tall, according to the Guinness Book of World Records.
