Glenn Hoddle suffered heart attack but 'responding well' in hospital

Glenn Hoddle suffered heart attack but 'responding well' in hospital

A spokesman of Hoddle released a statement on Sunday, saying: "Glenn remains in a serious condition in hospital after suffering a heart attack yesterday".

The former England, Spurs and Wolves manager, who turns 61 today, was preparing for the BT Sport Score programme but took a turn in the studio.

"The condition is serious but Glenn is receiving specialist treatment and responding well", a spokesman said.

"The condition is serious but Glenn is now receiving specialist treatment and responding well".

That is the most important thing. "Therefore, his family have reiterated the request for their privacy to be respected during this period".

Dozens wished Hoddle well on social media including former England teammate Gary Lineker who tweeted: "Hugely worrying news that Glenn Hoddle collapsed at the BT studios earlier".

Hoddle managed the national team from 1996-99. In the meantime, keep him in your thoughts and prayers.

A BT Sport studio worker provided CPR which included mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

He won the FA Cup and UEFA Cup with Spurs and also played for Monaco, Swindon and Chelsea.

We will keep you updated on the situation surrounding Hoddle as it develops.

This is while Tottenham Hotspur said: 'Everybody at the Club sends their best wishes to @GlennHoddle for a full and speedy recovery after he was taken ill this morning'.

Glenn's most recent work has been as a football pundit and TV presenter, appearing on ITV Sport as well as the BT Sport channel where he was taken ill today. "We're right with you Glenn". He is a great football man and a great guy.

Daniels said: "I'm touched by all of the comments from Glenn's family and those in the football and broadcasting world".

Hoddle guided England to the 1998 World Cup finals in France but his tenure in charge ended acrimoniously when his contract was terminated after an interview in which he expressed controversial beliefs about disabled people.
