Six people shot in shooting near Jacksonville Jaguar's stadium

Of the six people shot, five were reportedly transported by emergency vehicles and one person was transported in a private vehicle. The suspect is on the run. The victims ranged in age from their 20s to the 70s, according to Lendvay.

JACKSONVILLE — Six people have been shot a few blocks from an National Football League stadium in Jacksonville, and three are in critical condition, authorities reported.

Ron Lendvay, director of investigations for the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office, said several shots were fired about 12:35 p.m. Sunday on a boulevard outside in the general area of the stadium and that five men and one woman were struck by bullets and wounded.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the shooting occurred just a half-mile away from TIAA Bank Field where the Jaguars play.

Police say there are no suspects now in custody.




Anyone with information on the shooting is urged to contact the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

Authorities don't know the motive of the shooting, but Lendvay told reporters there is a possibility it may be gang-related.

Authorities hadnt yet determined the number of suspects or whether any shooter was inside or outside the vehicle, he said.

The sheriff's office said it was escorting fans who'd parked near the shooting scene to their vehicles.

The shooting happened at A Philip Randolph Boulevard and Pippin Street.
