Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo Exchange Punches During Rockets vs Lakers

Chris Paul and Rajon Rondo Exchange Punches During Rockets vs Lakers

Rajon Rondo and Chris Paul got into it, and Brandon Ingram played a big role too.

Saturday night was a huge one for Los Angeles sports: Not only were the Dodgers playing for a trip to the World Series, LeBron James played his first home game as a Los Angeles Laker.

The Lakers' Rondo insisted after the game that he didn't spit at Houston veteran Paul but the National Basketball Association was in the process of examining video and interviewing witness to determine punishments.

Houston coach Mike D'Antoni disagreed with the severity of Paul's penalty. Paul will miss Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Clippers. You talk monetarily, he's paying three times more than other guys are paying for missing games? "That doesn't seem to be right".

The Suns are 1-1 and the Lakers are 0-2 this season.

The good news is the Lakers' schedule eases up this week, with the San Antonio Spurs, Phoenix Suns, Denver Nuggets and Spurs again on deck.

Paul then put his finger in Rondo's face, and Rondo responded by throwing a punch, and Paul punched back.

"What is he supposed to do?"

In the heat of the moment, when somebody does that, I mean that's tough.

Getting ejected from the game after screaming all kinds of obscenities at Rockets guard and State Farm spokesman Chris Paul, Kiedis' band's name wasn't the only thing seeing red. "That's blatant disrespect. That's unacceptable". The brawl was ultimately halted after several players on both teams and security officials intervened to pull the fighters away.

The four-game suspension is the longest for an on-court incident since April 2012, when Metta World Peace of the Lakers received seven games.

The incident took place in the fourth quarter of the contest, when James Harden drove the lane, and was fouled by Brandon Ingram.

"We try to judge each one of these [incidents] on the merits: who does what, who instigates, how unsafe the situation becomes and is", VanDeWeghe said. "It's a lot monetarily for the player, [and] it hurts the team".

Of course, Rondo will claim that he didn't mean to spit on Paul.

"It goes back to when Rondo said: 'You're never gonna win a championship'". Paul alleges Rondo spit in his face which forced Paul to stick a hand in Rondo's.
