Rockets, Suns Agree To A Major NBA Trade

What the Rockets getMarquese Chriss #0 of the Phoenix Suns moves the ball past Zhou Qi #9 of the Houston Rockets on November 16, 2017 in Phoenix, Arizona.

Houston Rockets GM Daryl Morey finally found a trade partner to take Ryan Anderson, and the two years, $41 million left on his contract.

Aside from successfully dumping Ryan Anderson to Phoenix, the Rockets will be receiving two players who can help them become more competitive in the 2018-19 National Basketball Association season.

This will be Knight's fourth NBA team after being selected as the eighth overall pick in the first round of the 2011 NBA Draft by the Detroit Pistons.

Knight is coming off of a season in which he averaged 11.0 points and 2.4 assists in 54 games (five starts) for the Suns. Chriss also becomes a much more valuable trade piece than Anderson as the Rockets continue to hone their roster in a quest toward dethroning the Golden State Warriors. On Friday however, Wojnarowski reported that Anderson agreed to reduce the guarantee on his 2019-20 salary to $15.6 million - which only applies if he is waived.

The Suns expect Anderson to start at power forward this season, according to the report. Chriss has a career scoring average of 8.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and shoots a tad over 30 percent from 3-point range.

The 21-year-old Chriss averaged 7.7 points and 5.5 rebounds per game last season. Okobo, out of France, was the 31st pick in last June's draft and showed flashes at Summer League but has a lot of adjusting to do, and his game needs to mature, to really fit at the National Basketball Association level. Currently, their lineup at the 1 consists of Elie Okobo-another 2018 second-round pick-Melton, 2016 undrafted guard Shaquille Harrison, and Isaiah Canaan.

Knight will get minutes in a reserve role behind Chris Paul.
