Trump casts midterm elections as a personal referendum

Trump casts midterm elections as a personal referendum

President Donald Trump blasted Democrats during a raucous election rally here Saturday that was focused heavily on immigration, telling an enthusiastic crowd he needed more Republicans in Congress to accomplish his agenda.

"Why would there be a blue wave?"

President Trump speaks at a rally in support of congressional hopeful Troy Balderson in Lewis Center, Ohio.

The Ohio rally was Trump's third of the week and he has pledged to accelerate his pace further as the midterms approach.

"I asked him the other day, 'Why are you bringing Trump in?' He said, 'Well, I don't have anything to do with it", Kasich said.

Kasich said on "This Week", "I ended up doing a tweet about that, not only did I say that LeBron should be praised - look, he has got $41 million set aside to help kids go to college plus a bunch of other schools - but I also disagreed with the president because you know what, all around LeBron I think is a little better than M.J". The seat opened up when Republican Rep.

He also gave an onstage hug to Rep. Jim Jordan, who is under siege after allegations that, as an assistant wrestling coach at Ohio State University, he knew of alleged sexual abuse by a team doctor but did not report it. Jordan, who has denied the charge, has announced his plan to run for speaker of the House.

John Kasich, a Republican critic of President Trump, said a special election in his state that should be a "slam dunk" for the GOP is instead close, which "doesn't bode well" for his party.

A federal judge in Washington, D.C., on Friday, upheld an earlier ruling requiring the Trump administration to continue an Obama-era program that shielded certain young immigrants from deportation.

Trump rarely allows a slight to pass unanswered, but James appeared off limits by the time the president crossed the OH border to campaign for state Sen.

If Balderson loses, the race could reflect on Trump's popularity in the Midwest before the November midterm elections.

Hours before the president touched down in OH he took to Twitter to attack former Cavaliers superstar LeBron James. The statement didn't criticize Trump. During the interview, James said Trump was trying to use sports to divide the nation. "I want to take care of the American workers".
