Samsung's foldable Galaxy X smartphone could launch in early 2019

Samsung's foldable Galaxy X smartphone could launch in early 2019

Samsung sent out press invitations for an August 9 "Unpacked" event in NY, where's it's expected to announce the Galaxy Note 9.

Yesterday the Samsung CEO was spotted using a Galaxy Note 9. The link asks customers to leave their details to be contacted by Vodafone once the Note 9 is officially unveiled.

The image also highlights that the Galaxy Note 9 will not ditch the 3.5mm audio jack and will sport a dual rear camera setup just like the previous year launched Galaxy Note 8.

A Wall Street Journal report claims that Samsung may release a folding phone in 2019. According to the renders, the back of the device comes with the most obvious changes in terms of the layout and design as the fingerprint scanner has moved from the side of the camera module to below the camera module.

Holding separate launch events for smartphones and watches have had little marketing benefits and it is better to launch them together to maximize the Galaxy brand, ZDNet Korea said.

Are you looking forward to the Galaxy Note 9? The Galaxy Note 9 on its own isn't likely to make waves, but perhaps a rebranded smartwatch with fresh new features and interactivity with the Galaxy smartphone line will reinvigorate the fan base.

In addition to the fresh render leaked by Blass, the first hands-on images of the Galaxy Note 9 have been spotted on SlashLeaks. The S Pen will come with a button placed on its surface along with a clicker at the bottom as shown in the image. The larger models will have a fingerprint-on-display (FOD) scanner so you can touch the display to unlock the device.

In terms of cameras, the Galaxy Tab S4 will feature a 13MP main camera and a 8MP front-facing camera. It is also rumoured to come with up to 8GB of RAM and as much as 512GB of onboard storage.

Rumours for the Galaxy S10 are in full swing with news emerging, next year's release will see three devices instead of two taking a dig at the upcoming iPhone launch.
