Heat Advisory for eastern Hampden County Monday

Heat Advisory for eastern Hampden County Monday

The day will start out mostly sunny and then become partly cloudy by the afternoon. But that does't mean it didn't feel like 100 degrees with the humidity.

St. Louis and surrounding areas will have to deal with risky heat through the Father's Day weekend into early next week.

Temperatures across much of Michigan's Lower Peninsula will soar into the 90s on Sunday, which has prompted the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory.

Low to upper 90s are expected for highs on Monday, ahead of our next front. Strong to severe storms will be possible in Central Nebraska Saturday night.

Today, the temperature could get as high as 87 degrees before dropping down to 61 overnight, according to the National Weather Service.

Parts of the Northeast will also get quite warm, with heat index values in the upper 90s in NY and Philadelphia.

Enfield Public Schools announced on Friday that due to the excessive heat on Monday, they are planning a half day.

A disturbance may cause a few scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. The anticipated abundant sunshine will add another 5 to 15 degrees to this apparent temperature making for extremely unsafe conditions for those participating in outdoor activities or spending any time at all in the sun. Your heat index will be close enough!

Numerous storms and showers are in the forecast throughout the weekend.
