Turkey and Israel expel envoys over Gaza violence

Turkey and Israel expel envoys over Gaza violence

Hamas, the United States and Israeli-designated terrorist organization that vows to destroy Israel and the Jewish people who live there, has accomplished a massive triumph of propaganda over the Gaza protests. "No country in this chamber would act with more restraint than Israel has".

Gaza's Hamas-run health ministry said that 60 Palestinians were killed and more than 2,700 were wounded on Monday amid the biggest riots and rallies in a weeks-long campaign of protests against Israel, known collectively as the "March of Return".

Journalist David Ignatius, a guest on the show, reiterated that the contrast of the images "will shock people in the Middle East, should be a shocking contrast for people all over the world".

The IDF commander of the special forces unit from Maglan who engaged the terrorists told The Times of Israel, on condition of anonymity, that he waited to give the order to fire until civilian protesters scattered.

Zayid referred specifically to the United Nations General Assembly resolution 194, of 1948, which states in part, "Refugees wishing to return to their homes and live at peace with their neighbours should be permitted to do so at the earliest practicable date, and that compensation should be paid for the property of those choosing not to return and for loss of or damage to property which, under principles of worldwide law or equity, should be made good by the Governments or authorities responsible".

Some of them and others, including China, called for an independent probe into the events at the Gaza border.

"The death toll alone warranted such an inquiry, which should be made public and hold perpetrators to account", said Karen Pierce, British ambassador to the United Nations. "And actually makes it more hard for us to move forward with our Sunni allies".

He also condemned US President Donald Trump's decision to open an embassy in Jerusalem.

Most countries say the status of Jerusalem - a sacred city to Jews, Muslims and Christians - should be determined in a final peace settlement and that moving their embassies now would prejudge any such deal. And they came to denounce the USA embassy switch.

Following Monday's border clashes Turkey pulled its ambassadors to Israel and the USA and expelled the Israeli ambassador in Ankara.

Kuwait's U.N. Ambassador Mansour al-Otaibi told reporters before the meeting that he would likely circulate the draft resolution to the 15-member council on Wednesday. He didn't immediately give details of his proposal.

"Those who suggest that the Gaza violence has anything to do with the location of the American embassy are sorely mistaken".

On the Israeli side of the border, Israeli sharpshooters watch the fence for breaches by protesters.

A proposed UN Security Council press statement, put forward by Kuwait, was blocked by the United States, according to a UN diplomat.

The Palestinian media is calling the protests and riots this week the "Great March of Return," while some media outlets are allegedly attempting to present the Palestinian response to the new U.S. embassy as peaceful. Israel's ambassador, meanwhile, called for condemning Hamas.
