Toronto Raptors 110-128 Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron James

Toronto Raptors 110-128 Cleveland Cavaliers: LeBron James

Two home losses to begin their series with the Cavaliers put the Raptors in an uncomfortably familiar place - staring up at the greatness of LeBron James. Really, what did it matter?

Comparing the shot to a three-pointer, James also explained the reasoning behind proceeding with the play from the Cavaliers' side of the court instead of taking a timeout. It gets harder and harder to argue. If they give him too much space, he's shooting it. And no matter how they try to spin it, it's time for the citizens of LeBronto to come to a harsh truth: it's time to blow it up.

Imagine if the Raptors were able to get by in Game 1 or tonight, this would be a different narrative but now down 0-3, the chances look rather tough. In Game 2 their defence was as comfortable to inhabit as a silk robe.

The Raptors rank second in blocks per game (6.1) while the Cavaliers rank 27th (3.8).

But they couldn't do it all. "When do I decide what shot to take?"

Next comes the formality of Game 4 on Monday. It was like everyone was waiting for someone else to do it first. They stormed to 59 wins with the fifth-best defence in the National Basketball Association as measured by points allowed per 100 possessions, and stout play on that end of the court has been a staple of Casey's squads over the last few years. Cleveland is going to score, but you have to at least make it uncomfortable.

But they made it work pairing Ibaka with Pascal Siakam and basically benching Jakob Poelt who has struggled in this series. They did, and it still wasn't enough. It was a 16-2 Cavaliers run.

Lowry noted that the offence hadn't been bad at all through two games against Cleveland, and yet they were, staring at a daunting hole. Toronto recovered from a 17-point, third-quarter deficit to make it a one-possession game.

LeBron James gives Cleveland a 3-0 series lead against Toronto with an outrageous floating shot as the clock expires. It's what he was going for.

But to disprove that, James scored Cleveland's last two baskets on a drive and a jumper for the 105 -all tie leading to overtime. "Two points is not two points", James said.

"Issues that you just dream about, that you just get these alternatives and I have been lucky sufficient to get a handful of these in a few of the greatest moments in my profession".

"Listen, tie game, down one, whatever the case may be, I live for those moments", James told reporters after the game.

He was trying to break them with their own discarded weapon, with their own scouting report.

The three-time victor has successfully completed the Raptors' beyond 2 seasons, and despite playing with a different supporting cast, James is one win against a Toronto trifecta.

"It's been a while since we've felt good (defensively) for a full 48 minutes", DeRozan said on Saturday morning. "That's disappointing to hear. you know, you guys talk about it". It's a similar situation we are with Cleveland.

The Raptors are reminiscent of those Cavs' team who couldn't get past Jordan in the playoffs. "That's what we're going to do".
