James Comey calls House GOP's Russian Federation probe 'a wreck'

James Comey calls House GOP's Russian Federation probe 'a wreck'

Former FBI Director James Comey says President Donald Trump's berating of the FBI isn't just threatening its reputation; it's threatening the country.

Comey has been outspoken over his thoughts on Trump, writing in his recently released book A Higher Loyalty that he found the president was inappropriate in his interactions with the Federal Bureau of Investigation chief.

Comey released his book April 17, selling more than 600,000 copies within its first week on shelves, the New York Times reported. "So it's hard", Comey said.

Instead of offering the facts behind James Comey's demise, Dr Frank said Steve K's letter had "gravitas" - even when it showed a delusional grip of the facts, based on, I have to assume, one source of news only: the despicable, well-documented liar Sean Hannity of Fox News. "I'm living my best life, and he's over here tweeting at me".

Comey also added that his definition of a "leak" is the "disclosure of protected information", and urged people to treat leaks and media coverage of Robert Mueller's investigation into alleged Russian collusion with skepticism.

Comey warned the president that any actions he took against Mueller would ultimately prove ineffective, because the investigation would nearly certainly be picked up by other parts of the FBI or Justice Department.

Comey said America is not in a "normal world" under the Trump administration, and that decisions to pardon individuals like Scooter Libby, the former chief of staff to Vice President Dick Cheney, erode the rule of law and would not happen under the average president.

"Imagine Obama waking up in the morning and tweeting somebody he doesn't like should be in jail", Comey said.

Comey said on Sunday on NBC's Meet The Press that he considers the report, issued on Friday by the Republicans, to be a "political document". "You should know where the damn thing comes from", Graham said.
