Boston could see more spring snow later this week

Certainly, wintry weather is not uncommon in New England in April, but I'm ready to be done with Old Man Winter. With a lot of blooms on the trees, that adds more weight to the branches with heavy wet snow.

Today, the sun will rise at 7:08:41 a.m. and set at 7:58:17 p.m. Also, the wind will be stronger, gusting over 25 miles per hour.

Tonight's low will drop to -11 C.

There's a chance of rain and/or snow Monday and Tuesday. Thursday afternoon, the NWS predicts a 20 percent chance of snow.

A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for the Cody foothills and Teton National Park, there 6 to 12 inches of snow are possible by Friday morning.

Highs will be in the lower 40s, but wind chill values will only be in the 30s as the wind will still be gusting 30 to 40 miles per hour.

Behind the low pressure system crossing the area late Thursday will come gusty northwest winds.

"We're on the southern edge of cold air that will impact the northern Plains", he said. Highs will be in the upper-30s. There could be some records broken around the area for coldest high temperatures. Much colder air returns by the evening, with lake effect snow showers.

People in the Northeast could see a "quick burst of snow" that could change into rain during the morning commute.

Wednesday night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25.

Saturday - Partly sunny, with a high near 38.

The highest snowfall total from the storm as of Monday afternoon was 9 inches in Tobyhanna, Pa. But the City of Oaks got a whopping 10 inches of snow on April 3, 1915.

According to a Wednesday weather report, NY and other areas in the northeast could see some more snow this weekend.
