Devs Working On iOS 11.3 Jailbreak, But We May Have To Wait

It's available over the air and it's the first ever update for Apple's smart speaker.

An iOS 11.3 jailbreak has been hard and somewhat pointless to start developing at this point, considering the fact that so far it has been in a pre-release state that is constantly being revised and updated with new fixes and features. By visiting Settings ⇾ Battery ⇾ Battery Health (Beta), users can now see a percentage representing the health of their battery. The new menu, which launches in beta, not only shows you how significantly your iPhone's battery has degraded since you bought it, but also lets you opt out of throttling processing power to extend longevity on a charge.

Introduced as part of iOS 10.2.1 in January 2017, this "power management feature", as Apple calls it, was meant to ensure that aging batteries could keep up with newer mobile OSes and to avoid crashes. Anyway, for those who have gotten the latest iOS 11.1, the update may not seem like there are many changes except for the obvious new App Store design and the Control Centre.

The Battery Health tool, which is now available in the operating system's beta release, will tell you how well your battery functions and whether the speed-slowing power management feature has been activated on your device, according to an announcement from Apple.

A new icon will display whenever your iPhone or iPad requests sensitive data, alongside "detailed privacy information", according to the company.

Apple News makes it easier to stay up-to-date on the most important videos of the day with a new Video group in For You, and improved Top Stories. Previously, iOS automatically limited performance in the name of longer battery life, if the battery had diminished in capacity beyond 80 percent.

You can update your iOS device in Settings General Software Update. Once you're there, your smartphone will start checking for updates.

iOS 11.3 is now available for download. As Apple has just released the updates, don't get disheartened if you don't see the update; it should be available on your phone in next few days. Share your views with us and keep reading Fossbytes!
