Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry named to NBA All-Star team reserves

Toronto Raptors guard Kyle Lowry named to NBA All-Star team reserves

With Lebron & Curry serving as captains, the two will alternate picking players from EITHER league to fill their rosters.

The first four picks of each captain must come from the starters voted in, such as Durant, New Orleans Pelicans duo Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins, Rockets' James Harden, Celtics' Kyrie Irving, Milwaukee Bucks Giannis Antetokounmpo, Sixers' Joel Embiid, and Raptors' DeMar DeRozan. On Tuesday, the National Basketball Association officially announced the full participants for the 2018 All-Star game, and as expected their are a couple snubs. Largely in part due to their team play but it's quite clear that they have been led by third-year center Nikola Jokic. Another player who was not happy in not being named to the All-Star reserves in the Western Conference is LA Clippers sixth man Lou Williams.

Oklahoma City might have one bright star, but George has been nothing short of brilliant, especially on defense.

The Eastern Conference @NBAAllStar Starters Pool! In his first season with IN, he he is averaging 24.9 points and 5.3 rebounds for each game played.

James and Curry are scheduled to choose the teams via a conference call with league officials on Thursday; rosters will be announced later that day.

West Reserves: LaMarcus Aldridge, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, Damian Lillard, Klay Thompson, Karl-Anthony Towns, & Russell Westbrook.

This is Towns' first time as an All-Star.

The NBA All-Star starters are already set, which means it is the reserve's turn.

Golden State is the first team to have a record-tying four all-stars in consecutive years.

Following the September trade of Carmelo Anthony to the Oklahoma City Thunder, Porzingis, who will miss Tuesday night's game against the Golden State Warriors with a knee injury, stepped into the role of leading man with the Knicks this season. But he's still close to that triple-double level this season (24.8 points, 10.1 assists and 9.7 rebounds).
