Colin Firth responds to Woody Allen backlash

Colin Firth responds to Woody Allen backlash

Woody Allen faced widening isolation Friday over allegations that he molested his daughter more than 25 years ago, after Colin Firth joined the list of actors saying he would not work with the director again. On Thursday, she addressed the matter in an on-camera interview for the first time.

Dylan continues to deny her mother manipulated her into going public with the story.

Farrow has been telling the same account of the alleged assault by Allen for a long time.

Since then, Allen has faced renewed questions over his alleged behaviour as he prepares for the release of his latest film, A Rainy Day In New York, in an industry coming to grips with its history of sexual harassment and abuse. "I worked (with Woody Allen) 3 times and it was one of the privileges of my career". In 2013, Vanity Fair interviewed her about everything she went through.

New publicity over Dylan Farrow's allegation comes as many in Hollywood are vowing to stamp out sexual harassment and abuse in the entertainment world.

Other actors who planned to not work with Allen include Call Me By Your Name actor Timothee Chalamet, Lady Bird director Greta Gerwig, and Mina Sorvino, one of Harvey Weinstein's blacklist survivors and accusers.

Allen - the director of more than 50 movies, a four-times Oscar victor and showered with awards in Europe - has always denied the allegations, which have never been proven.

Allen again asserted that the claims were false, he was never charged, and that he believes Dylan had been "coached" from an early age by her adopted mom, his ex Mia Farrow, in retaliation for his relationship with Farrow's adopted daughter Soon-Yi Previn. Their own dastardly ends?

Cotillard also mentioned that she knew little about Allen's personal life including the fact that he married one of his adopted daughters.

The accusation is not "any truer today than it was in the past" despite how "the Farrow family is cynically using the opportunity afforded by the Time's Up movement to repeat this discredited allegation", Allen said.

The disgraced director issued a statement after Farrow revived the detailed claims that he had sexually assaulted her as a seven-year-old girl, at her mother's CT home in 1992, in her first full television interview.

"I have to say yeah if he were to ask me again.I don't think it would ever happen because the experience we had together was very odd. Please know they are deeply felt and appreciated". 95% percent. 84% percent of the sexual victimization of children under 12 occurs in a residence. "Instead, they found it likely a vulnerable child had been coached to tell the story by her angry mother during a contentious breakup".

The Allen boycott could stem from his estranged stepdaughter, Dylan Farrow. Woody Allen is 82 years old now, but he'll never be too old to be made to face the bad things he is alleged to have done.
