Year-old Kid shares 8th position on the Forbes list

Year-old Kid shares 8th position on the Forbes list

A 7-year-old Asian American boy has been raking in millions by reviewing toy cars, action figures, Play-Doh, and other toys on YouTube.

This week Forbes released its annual list of highest-paid YouTubers, a prodigious sampling of channels, and the people associated with them, making ungodly sums of money doing impressively mundane things. While the top earner on the list managed to grab a whopping $16 million from YouTube, Ryan was not far behind as he earned $11 million from ad revenue. According to Forbes' rankings, Ryan ToysReview earned over USD11 million in 2017. The insane number of views and subscribers on Ryan's channel have him tied for eighth place on the list of the highest paid YouTubers in the world along with Smosh, a sketch-comedy duo.

"Ryan loves Toys. Toys Review for kids by a kid!"

It started after Ryan asked his parents if he could be on YouTube like "all the other kids" after watching toy-reviews channels. "Join Ryan to see him play with toys and review toys for kids!" reads the channel description. The video featured Ryan opening and reviewing a "GIANT EGG SURPRISE" box containing over 100 toys from Pixar's "Cars" series.

The channel now has over 10 million subscribers, which generates a monthly advertising revenue of around $1 million. His mother said to The Verge, "Ryan was watching a lot of toy review channels - some of his favorites are EvanTubeHD and Hulyan Maya".

Clearly, the six-year-old has enlisted the help of his parents to made these videos a reality but at the end of the day, the content is all Ryan.

"For the last 18 weeks and counting, Ryan ToysReview has been the most popular channel on YouTube in the USA, and the second largest in the world, a bigger attraction than household names like PewDiePie and Justin Bieber, and media empires like BuzzFeed, The Tonight Show, and the WWE".
