John Mayer Hospitalized, Undergoes Emergency Appendectomy

John Mayer underwent an emergency appendectomy Tuesday morning, forcing the rocker to postpone a New Orleans Dead & Company show. Fans can use the tickets for the rescheduled date or get a refund.

Singer John Mayer is now in the hospital for an emergency appendectomy, and his band Dead & Company have made a decision to postpone their Tuesday night concert.

Mayer has been playing with Dead & Company since the bands' inception in 2015.

Platinum-selling rock/pop star John Mayer was rushed to a hospital early December 5.

The group postponed a New Orleans concert date on Tuesday and is now postponing two more dates in Orlando and Sunrise, Florida, this week. Information on the rescheduled date will be announced as soon as possible. Mayer has additional solo tour dates slated for this month, and it's unclear now how they'll be affected.

Dead & Company is now next scheduled to perform on Thursday at the Amway Center in Orlando, FL.

He's now set to play at the Alice in Winterland concert in San Francisco with Matt Nathanson and Maren Morrison on December 12.
