CBS cancels 'Wisdom of the Crowd' amid Jeremy Piven sexual assault allegations

Wisdom of the Crowd has failed to make a substantial impact on CBS, with the show averaging 7.4 million viewers per episode, making it the lowest-rated new show on the network, EW reports. Its latest live-plus-3 averages only give it a 1.3 rating among adults 18-49 and 8.9 million viewers.

The "Entourage" star has been accused of sexual misconduct by four women - claims he vehemently denies - and as a result, the US TV network CBS has decided not to continue the show.

"Longmire" actress Cassidy Freeman accused of Piven of engaging in "predatory behavior", in an Instagram post. "It takes a great deal of courage for victims to come forward with their histories, and my hope is that the allegations about me that didn't happen, do not detract from stories that should be heard". Piven wrote on his Twitter account, adding, "Thanks for all the love, going to miss it as well". I would never force myself on a woman.

One of the women, Anastasia Taneie, told the outlet Piven forcefully groped her breasts and genitals in 2009 when she was working as an extra on the HBO series "Entourage".

Amy Meador also spoke to BuzzFeed News and alleged that Piven had assaulted her at her then-home in Laurel Canyon in 1995. Months later Piven showed up at her home unannounced, according to Meador.

United States broadcaster CBS has dropped Wisdom of the Crowd, which stars the under-fire Jeremy Piven.
