Study finds drinking coffee can cut risk of early death

Study finds drinking coffee can cut risk of early death

Coffee drinking is also linked to a lower risk of Parkinson's disease, depression, and Alzheimer's disease, the study found.

Experts say drinking three or four cups a day carries a lower risk of death, but could affect those in pregnancy. Drinking more than four cups a day during pregnancy increases risks of low birth weight, pre-term birth and stillbirth, the review says.

However, Eliseo Guallar of the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health said, "Doctors should not recommend drinking coffee to prevent disease - and people should not start drinking coffee for health reasons as there is substantial uncertainty about the effects of higher levels of intake".

The most grounded advantages of coffee utilization were seen in lessened dangers of liver disease, including growth.

Researchers in the United Kingdom pooled the results of more than 200 studies on java. Today India has quarter million coffee producers, mostly located in south India.

Though the group will soon begin their next phase to study the effect coffee has on the liver, Poole added coffee enthusiasts should still "try to make it as healthy as possible" and steer clear of the sugar. This included lower risk of death from any causes, or getting heart disease.

Finland ranks at top and India somewhere at bottom among world's heaviest coffee drinkers.

But even if there's still a lot we don't know about the link between coffee and our health, this new study offers a wide array of other avenues to explore. Or women who are pregnant.

"There is a balance of risks in life, and the benefits of moderate consumption of coffee seem to outweigh the risks", he said.

The European Food Safety Agency advises drinking no more than four cups a day.

Drinking coffee is good for most people's health, a major review of medical evidence has concluded.

You can feel less guilty reaching for your third espresso shot in the midst of the holiday craziness this season- a recent study has linked that extra cup of coffee (up to six cups daily!) to a decreased risk of of heart failure, stroke and coronary heart disease.
