Gigi Hadid Will Not Attend The Victoria's Fashion Show

If true, Perry isn't the only A-lister who won't make it to Shanghai, China. According to Page Six, several fashion bloggers have run into the now-familiar can't-get-a-visa issue.

Yesterday, Gigi Hadid announced she wouldn't be participating in Victoria's Secret Fashion Show this year in China and it's rumored it's because she couldn't secure a visa. (Don't judge: We were already chilling the champers for our annual viewing party on November 28.) The glittering spectacle - set to tape in Shanghai for the first time ever - has reportedly been plagued with travel-related issues, and Page Six went so far as to dub the lingerie-filled bonanza "an global media crisis." Oof. The sunflower was a symbol of anti-Chinese protestors in 2014.

Perry meanwhile was supposedly banned because she wore a Taiwanese flag during a 2015 concert in Taipei.

"For every artist who wants to perform in China, officials comb through their social media and press reports to see if they have done anything deemed to be offensive to the country", the source told Page Six.

Ed Razek, the executive producer of the show, told People magazine that Harry will perform alongside Grammy Award-winning musician Miguel, and Chinese singer and Tony Award-winner, Jane Zhang.

That's how the cookie crumbles: Gigi meanwhile was reportedly because of a "racist" video she posted back in February of her pulling a face in a lighthearted imitation of a Buddha cookie.

Model Adriana Lima's visa has been held up due to an ongoing "diplomatic problem". Rumors say that hers would also be canceled. Media outlets are also facing difficulties with accessing the Mercedes-Benz Arena to shoot the event. Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber and Maroon 5 are on that list.
