Suns finalising deal to send Eric Bledsoe to Bucks

Suns finalising deal to send Eric Bledsoe to Bucks

Q&A: Bucks GM Jon Horst discusses acquisition of Eric Bledsoe (read here): Matt Velazquez of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel sat down with Bucks general manager Jon Horst to talk about the team's deal to bring in Bledsoe and the insight behind the move.

The Suns have been trying to trade Bledsoe for a couple of weeks after he tweeted his displeasure at playing for the struggling Suns.

Monroe, 27, was taken 11 picks ahead of Bledsoe in the 2010 NBA Draft, with the latter taken off the board at No. 7 overall by the Detroit Pistons. The NBA fined the eight-year NBA veteran $10,000 for the tweet. Not only has Bledsoe proven to be an effective scorer at times throughout his career, but the former Kentucky standout is coming off a big 2016-17 season in which he set a career high by averaging 21.1 points per game.

The Bucks will battle the Cavs in Cleveland on Wednesday (AEDT), but Bledsoe is not expected to play just yet, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. Milwaukee had lost four of its last five games before visiting the Cavaliers, but adding Bledsoe's scoring ability alongside Antetokounmpo and Khris Middleton on a team that also includes rising guard Malcolm Brogdon could help.

In his three-year tenure with tenure with the Milwaukee Bucks, Monroe has averaged 13.3 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 2.2 assists in 165 games.

Greg Monroe and the Suns have not yet begun to discuss a buyout, as Phoenix will first explore trade possibilities, according to Adrian Wojnarowski‏ of ESPN. The first-rounder is lottery protected.

The Suns have until December 6 to turn James' contract into a full-fledged National Basketball Association deal - making it possible if they involve different pieces along with Monroe. We're looking forward to getting started in Milwaukee.
