Pokemon Go introduces new treats on Halloween

Pokemon Go introduces new treats on Halloween

Niantic today announced that Pokemon Go will soon give players a number of new Pokemon as part of a almost two week promotion.

The good? Pikachu is wearing a witch hat tilted juuust so.

Pokemon Go most recently added Mewtwo and the three Johto legendary beasts, but still has not added the entirety of generation one or two.

Ghost-type and other creepy looking Pokemon - like Ghastly, Gengar, Cubone and Misdreavus - will appear more frequently from October 20 to November 2.

Buddy Pokemon will also find Candy twice as fast during the Halloween celebration, while the special boxes from the in-game shop are also returning.

The Pokemon Go Halloween event is coming sooner than you think.

Other datamining efforts also found evidence for the inclusion of shiny-ghost Pokemon, although these may be being kept back for another objective.

Additionally, players can look forward to double candy rewards for hatching, catching, and transferring Pokemon. There's no word on just how gradually the company intends to roll these Pokemon out, but we've reached out for comment just in case.

These will feature items such as Raid Passes and Super Incubators which will likely come in handy in the future. This is no less true of Pokemon Go. We're only getting a taste of the new generation during the Halloween event, but we figured it would be worthwhile to acquaint you with the five new Pokemon being added tomorrow before you left work or school to start searching for them.
