Pakistan cricketers party ahead of Sri Lankan encounter

Pakistan cricketers party ahead of Sri Lankan encounter

The PCB Chairman was asked that will Sri Lankan team will visit Pakistan for the last T20 to which he replied affirmative while arriving at the Lahore Airport.

The report also added that from the current squad playing the ODI series in UAE, only four Sri Lankan players - Thisara Perera, Dishad Munaweera, Ashan Priyanjan, Isuru Udana - have agreed to tour Pakistan, as of now.

After a clinical win in the first ODI it is time for Pakistan cricket team to enjoy some good time, as the team celebrated the birthday of middle order batsman, Babar Azam, as the Lahore born turned 23 on Sunday.

The first two games of the series will be played in the United Arab Emirates which remains the adapted home of Pakistan.

Meanwhile, Sri Lanka's limited-overs captain Upul Tharanga has reportedly pulled out of the Lahore T20I due to security concerns and it is likely that the board would not consider him for first two matches as well. SLC president Thilanga Sumathipala will also come with his players.

"SLC have over the past two months conducted a thorough evaluation with the assistance of the government of Sri Lanka, government of Pakistan, PCB and independent security experts", the SLC release said.

When is Pakistan vs Sri Lanka 3rd ODI? Seems like we will be there in Lahore only for 24 hours. "In 1996, Pakistan helped us by forming the combined India-Pakistan side, and now it is our duty to help them", Tillakaratne said.

The T20I on October 29 will mark the return of high-profile bilateral cricket back to Pakistan as only Zimbabwe and World XI have played worldwide matches in the country since the Sri Lanka team bus was attacked in Lahore in March 2009.

Gunathilaka was dropped from the squad for the ongoing five-match one-day global series against Pakistan in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

That Sri Lanka will tour for the match was confirmed earlier in the day by PCB chief Najam Sethi.
