Arsenal's Arsene Wenger admits Sanchez, Ozil could be sold in January

Arsenal's Arsene Wenger admits Sanchez, Ozil could be sold in January

Sanchez is in the last season of his contract at the Emirates and is showing no signs he is ready to extend his stay in North London. Reports have followed suggesting Pep Guardiola's side will return with a £20m offer for the Chile global in the new year in an effort to test the north Londoner's resolve. Chile's loss on Wednesday meant they failed to qualify for next year's World Cup.

And afterwards he was quizzed buy reporters about the prospect of linking up with the attacking midfielder at club level next season.

"No, not at the moment", said Wenger, when asked if talks between Arsenal and the duo were in the pipeline, according to Sky Sports.

Arsenal would much prefer to sacrifice Ozil when the window reopens as his impact on the team is considered far less, in addition to earning £80,000 per week more than his rebel team-mate. I will always appreciate him. "But if it is to come to us, then that's better".

Ozil's current contract with Arsenal expires at the end of the season and there have been no developments in the German signing a new deal as of yet.

The Chilean is attracting plenty of interest from his former boss Pep Guardiola, while United manager Jose Mourinho is reportedly keeping tabs on his ex-Real Madrid star.

So PSG know they face stiff competition in the battle to land the world class talent on a free transfer.

Another possible departure from Arsenal in January is Jack Wilshere, after reports indicated he was considering leaving the club in order to force his way into England's World Cup squad.

"Wenger is clearly anticipating that Sanchez will be very low when he returns from the global break".

And now the one summer when Sanchez will have plenty of time to relax will be the one where he is unlikely to return as an Arsenal player.
