Tom Brady practices on Wednesday

Quarterback Tom Brady returned to practice today after missing his first workout of the season. According to Michael Giardi of NBC Sports Boston, Brady re-aggravated a shoulder injury that he originally hurt against the Panthers on October 1.

"We'll put an injury report out after practice like we always do, " Belichick said when asked if Brady would be at Wednesday's midday practice.

Brady sat out yesterday to rest a relatively minor left shoulder injury that he suffered in Week 4 against the Panthers and aggravated Thursday against the Buccaneers.

The Patriots have a Week 6 appointment with the New York Jets on Sunday.

Aside from when Brady missed almost the entire 2008 season due to an ACL and MCL tear in Week 1 against the Chiefs, he has been remarkably durable. The good news is that the injury is in his left shoulder - not his throwing shoulder.

The 33 hits are tied for 7th most in the NFL, while the 16 sacks are eighth most in the league. Eventually, the hits are going to take their toll on a 40-year-old player. The bad news is he is on pace to be sacked more times this year than any other season in his career.
