Ceballos double enough for unconvincing Real

Two goals from Dani Cabellos secured all three points for Zinedine Zidane's men against La Liga strugglers Alaves who are yet to pick up a point after six games.

Former Ballon d'Or victor Zidane said that he has not had a hands-on approach with Enzo's career since he left the Santiago Bernabeu, after giving him his Real debut in a Copa Del Rey match past year, in which he scored.

Cristiano Ronaldo hit the goal-frame twice in the second half as the Madrid forward seeks his first goal in the league after he was suspended for the first four rounds for pushing a referee.

Three minutes later, however, Ceballos curled the ball in after the home side's goalkeeper Fernando Pacheco put a clearance directly into his path.

Ceballos caught Madrid's eye in the offseason after he was named the best player at the Under-21 European Championship, where he helped Spain reach the final before losing to Germany 1-0.

Ghana midfielder Mubarak Wakaso hopes that the clash against Real Madrid this weekend will be the sticking point for his struggling Alaves team this season.

Ronaldo had another opportunity in the 53rd minute after working some space just outside the Alaves box, but he missed the target once again, before Pacheco made a smart save to deny Isco, who had broken the offside trap. Ceballos used his strength to muscle Ely off the ball before side-footing his 20-yard effort into the bottom left-hand corner.

Pacheco gave his team a chance at a late draw with a fine save on Ronaldo, but Alaves couldn't muster any real chances, as Real preserved a narrow win.
