US Considering Shooting Down Any Missiles From North Korea, Reports Claim

US Considering Shooting Down Any Missiles From North Korea, Reports Claim

The US jets trained together with four South Korean F-15K jet fighters before returning to their bases in Japan and Guam, Yonhap quoted the source as saying.

Speaking at a meeting with South Korean expats in NY, the president said that while US military bases in South Korea are for the common good of the two sides, there could be disputes over sharing defense costs.

Most experts believe that a military strike on North Korea would invite a devastating response from Pyongyang.

Four American fighter jets and two B-1 bombers were joined by the South Korean Air Force on Monday for the first training flights since the north's recent nuclear test.

U.S. Pacific Command maintains the ability to respond to any threat in the Indo-Asia-Pacific theater at a moment's notice. The country flight-tested two intercontinental ballistic missiles in July.

North Korea's latest missile launch renewed discussion in the Trump administration about how military force could be used to stop Kim's development of nuclear warheads and ballistic missiles.

With its constant nuclear and missile tests, North Korea has been a foreign policy headache for the Trump administration, prompting the United States to have a plan should tensions escalate. But the liberal-leaning government of President Moon Jae-in said it has no intention of requesting that the US bring back such weapons.

The U.S. soldiers are conducting a joint exercise with their South Korean allies, and the mission for the day is to recapture a village in enemy hands. He previously said the idea should be "deeply considered" by the allies, inflaming already-heated debate on the issue.

"President Trump and President Moon committed to continuing to take steps to strengthen deterrence and defense capabilities, and to maximize economic and diplomatic pressure on North Korea", the White House said in a statement. China in turn favors an worldwide response to the problem.

Washington has also asked China to do more to rein in its neighbour and ally, while Beijing has urged the United States to refrain from making threats against the North.

As per Business Standard, China was the largest trading partner of North Korea, with a trade volume of $ 2,600 million, with India at the second spot with a trade volume of $87.4 million.

The Spanish Foreign Ministry announced the decision in a tweet published just after 8pm local time, which reads: "The North Korean Ambassador was called to a meeting and informed he is 'persona non-grata".

"Some related parties keep sending threatening messages both in words and deeds that include warnings of military actions to each other", ministry spokesman Lu Kang told reporters at a regular briefing.

"These kinds of actions don't help solve the problem but further complicate the situation", he said.

Instead, he said, the global community should strictly implement the sanctions imposed on North Korea by the U.N. Security Council.

On Monday, the official China Daily said sanctions should be given time to bite but that the door must be left open to talks.
