'Destiny 2' is an absurdly attractive new game - see for yourself

'Destiny 2' is an absurdly attractive new game - see for yourself

However, you won't be able to invite your friends to a game right off the bat, as Destiny 2 requires you to finish a few levels first.

Destiny 2 may have had its release date leaked months ahead of the official announcement, but that hasn't soured interest. The PC version will release on October 24.

Sony has an exclusive marketing deal for Destiny with Bungie and Activision- and it seems to be a rather extensive deal, to the extent that the Xbox versions of the game can't even apparently be acknowledged in public.

Failing that, you can head over to Microsoft's own online store and take your pick from the bundles on offer there, including an Xbox One S with Madden 18, Battlefield 1 or Gears of War 4 $249 each, among other offers.

Because Activision is a ridiculous company that loves consumerism, there's a dizzying array of different editions to pick up if you want to play Destiny 2.

Launching a big game that only works when players are connected to the server is always something of a nervous time. This shows the overwhelming response Destiny 2 has received, from the number of players logging in simultaneously. In Destiny 2, every player creates their own character called a "Guardian", humanity's chosen protectors. PlayStation Japan understood that, so here you go!

It's actually a great deal- and it just happens to let you get the hottest new game in town, too. That's what Destiny is all about.

Until that happens, we now know that the story of Destiny 2 revolves around the destruction of The Last City and The Tower of Destiny.

It's all very dystopian sci-fi, and Bungie is framing the story as a tale of redemption and revenge. Whereas the first Destiny made players wait until the House of Wolves expansion to play the Trials of Osiris Crucible event, Destiny 2 players only have to wait until September 15th at 10am Pacific time to try it out. "A great story. Awesome characters".
