Injuries: Tyrod Taylor remains in concussion protocol

Injuries: Tyrod Taylor remains in concussion protocol

After Saturday's third preseason game in Baltimore, the Bills got more bad news on the quarterback front.

Taylor is still in the concussion protocol and won't practice Tuesday, ESPN's Mike Rodak reports. He was also benched in the past for being late to team meetings.

However, McDermott did say Dareus traveled home from Baltimore separately and not with the team.

Hopefully, Dareus can learn a lesson from this and stay out of trouble, as he's expected to be a key contributor to the team's defensive line in 2017.

"It's a challenge, regardless if a player has been in this system or not", McDermott said. "We have certain things we do a certain way, and I expect everyone to be accountable".

Rookie Nathan Peterman, who served as the backup the past two preseason games, is now the only healthy quarterback on the Bills roster at this time.

"Anytime it's your premier player like that, it sends a message to the team", Incognito said.

Being a first-year head coach, McDermott was asked if he's anxious his oft message of "proving it" isn't being listened to.

McDermott was asked if getting sent home was a standard or previously agreed upon punishment for what Dareus did. Not by choice. In a surprise, TJ Yates was also diagnosed with a concussion.

McDermott has other concerns beyond Dareus.

McDermott said Taylor would not have played Thursday anyway, but the Bills are considering adding another quarterback. "I made that decision because I felt like it was the right thing for this football team".
