Newcastle boss Benitez makes transfer pledge to fans

Newcastle boss Benitez makes transfer pledge to fans

Elias Kachunga's played a crucial role as Huddersfield claimed a 1-0 victory over Newcastle in an English Premier League encounter on Sunday afternoon.

Huddersfield couldn't have made a more impressive start to their debut Premier League season with a 3-0 win over Crystal Palace.

It was another impressive win for Premier League newcomers Huddersfield, and their own brand of intense but physical counter-pressing-led football is causing a stir.

Huddersfield jump to second in the Premier League standings with their ideal beginning season only bettered by Manchester United's superior goal difference.

Aaron Mooy celebrates his winning goal.

The 27-year-old Bermudan worldwide goal machine helped The Terriers to promotion to the English Premier League last term but is now believed to be available for transfer.

"It's been a great start so far", said the Australia global, who spent last season on loan from Manchester City and made the move permanent in an £8m deal during the summer.

Newcastle's best chance came when a corner was whipped in from the left-hand side, found its way to Ayoze Perez who volleyed his chance over the bar.

However, Wagner was quick to remind everyone where his side have come from in reaching the Premier League last season.

While Wagner and his buoyant players can do no wrong, Newcastle have endured a hard return to the highest level, Rafael Benitez now having overseen successive defeats after a 2-0 loss at home to Tottenham in the opening round of the campaign.

That will stop the fans making the difference and Newcastle can grow into the game and get a very important away win.

Tottenham thought they had done enough for a point but Chelsea won it six minutes later when Alonso's shot slipped through the hands of Lloris.

"I am very happy and proud that the players really followed our idea to try and keep Newcastle as far away as possible from our goal", he said.

It was Newcastle who went closest to breaking the deadlock inside the first 20 minutes as from a counter-attack Matt Ritchie unleashed a fine curling effort which was goalbound till Jonas Lossl produced a superb save to deny him.
