Britney Spears' Security Tackles Man Who Got on Stage

Britney Spears' Security Tackles Man Who Got on Stage

A awful fright. At her concert in Las Vegas on Wednesday, August 9, as part of her Piece of me tour, Britney Spears had a very bad surprise.

Spears was focused on her performance and didn't notice the potential danger until after her backup dancers tackled the guy and pinned him down.

The singer, caught in fan footage posted online, could be heard asking her security if the man had a gun, The Daily Mail reported. Video shows her knees buckle as she clutches a security guard, saying, "He's got a gun?"

Jonathan Groce, an eyewitness at the concert, explained to "Entertainment Tonight" that the fan, later identified by TMZ as 37-year-old Jess Webb, was standing in the first section of the venue when he and a friend began fighting with the security guards. Her security team quickly jumped to her side and informed her about what was going on.

Britney Spears was clearly shaken up when her Las Vegas show came to an abrupt halt. Webb was asked to leave the concert by security prior to him jumping on stage and dancing.

Spears, who just returned to Vegas after a break from her residency, soon realized something was up, asking her personal bodyguards, "Is something OK?"

Spokespeople for Spears and the Las Vegas Police Department could not be reached for comment at press time.

She also raised eyebrows when she insisted that she didn't rely on pre-recorded vocals as much as people might think, later shutting down her critics with a surprisingly tuneful rendition of "Happy Birthday To You". "I'm sooooo excited to see you all", she told her 17.2 million followers.
