Mike Moustakas' 30th homer leads Royals past the Red Sox 4-2

Mike Moustakas' 30th homer leads Royals past the Red Sox 4-2

Make it 9 wins in a row for the Kansas City Royals.

In a nine-game winning streak, Kansas City has mashed 20 homers. The Red Sox unfortunately dropped the first game, even more surprising they weren't able to score even a single run.

With just a few days for the MLB Trade Deadline, the Boston Red Sox remain somewhat active in their efforts to pull off a trade. Moustakas is now up to 30 homers on the year to go along with a.279/.308/.568 batting line.

PITCHING MATCHUP: Royals LH Jason Vargas (12-4, 3.08 ERA) vs.

As has been the case for much of July, the Sox struggled with runners in scoring position, finishing the night 1-for-6. Offensively, Mookie Betts leads the Red Sox with 112 hits and 61 RBI while Xander Bogaerts and Dustin Pedroia have combined for 206 hits and 97 RBI. He is 5-3 with a 3.82 ERA.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Boston is the favorite at home today, as the Red Sox are getting odds of -140 to win, while the Royals are listed with odds of +125 to win.

Price had a run of seven straight starts allowing three or fewer earned runs come to an end at the Los Angeles Angels on Saturday, when he was lit up for six runs - five earned - on seven hits and three walks in five innings.

In March, Price was diagnosed with a strain of flexor mass muscle in the forearm near his elbow, delaying his season debut to late May. I like Boston to the Royals streak here.
