Budget office puts off scoring of health bill

The Senate will postpone its vote on President Trump's health care bill - originally scheduled for this week - while Sen. But Cornyn's protestation rings hollow given the unprecedented secret process Senate Republicans used to draft the bill, which barred any Democratic input.

McCain, R-Ariz., had surgery Friday to remove a blood clot over his left eye.

With 52 Republicans sitting in the house, McConnell can't afford to lose more than two GOP votes in order for the bill to pass.

In an appearance on CBS's Face the Nation July 9, McCain himself didn't seem optimistic about the bill's chances, criticizing the way in which Sen.

While few think they'd actually oppose BCRA, both McCain and Arizona's junior Republican senator, Jeff Flake, are officially undecided, and have expressed disappointment in the current bill.

John McCain's blood clot surgery, already having political implications with the Senate health care vote, may be more serious than initial descriptions have implied, according to The New York Times.

The bill is not much different from the original: it would still end Obamacare's penalties for people who don't buy insurance, cut back an expansion of Medicaid and cuts to the entitlement program.

The Russia sanctions bill, which passed the Senate last month overwhelmingly, is still being held up in the House over partisan disputes on procedure.

"President Trump and I believe the Senate health-care bill strengthens and secures Medicaid for the neediest in our society", Pence said in a speech to governors on Friday. "I'm still for all of those and I think those could be part of clean repeal..." It is unclear how long McCain will be away from the Senate, but it will likely be at least a week.

Changes in the revised bill would send hundreds of millions of extra federal dollars to Alaska, which may help persuade her. Alaska is the only state that can benefit from formulas that would steer extra Obamacare exchange market stabilization dollars to high-premium states. John McCain's emergency eye surgery.

McConnell's initial challenge is to get all the remaining holdouts to agree not to vote with Democrats to block the measure from even reaching the floor for debate.

The Better Care Act is the Senate Republican effort to repeal and replace former President Barack Obama's Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. More often than not, a blood clot "in this area would be a very concerning issue", he said.

Without McCain, the current version of Trumpcare - officially titled the Better Care Reconciliation Act - can not pass the Senate.

In Phoenix, Mayo Clinic Hospital doctors said McCain underwent a "minimally invasive" procedure to remove the almost 2-inch clot and that the surgery went "very well", a hospital statement said.

In 2000, McCain was diagnosed with melanoma.

The tissue that was removed is undergoing analysis, and McCain's office says results should be available within the next several days. McCain was reported to be resting comfortably at his home.

President Trump, for his part, even admitted last week that striking an agreement on health care reform an nearly impossible challenge to overcome.
