Rain coming Sunday to North Country, NWS says

The severe weather threat will stay low and winds will be out of the southeast/ northeast at 5-10 miles per hour. The showers and storms will then ramp up late Sunday and Monday, courtesy of a storm system diving in from the northwest.

Wednesday: A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms. Sunday is shaping up to be another lovely day with mostly sunny skies and highs in the mid-80s.

Tonight: Increasing clouds. Small chance for a shower or storm. It's going to feel like summer with lows only in the mid 60s. A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. West wind around 5 miles per hour becoming calm in the evening.

Our next chance for rain will be on Tuesday in western Kansas as a cold front approaches from the west. Showers and storms will be spotty Tuesday afternoon and evening.




Showers start in western New England by dinner time Sunday before spreading eastward through the rest of this evening. Thursday will be another fine day with highs in the mid 80s and plenty of sunshine. Lows through this period will be mostly clear to partly cloudy with lows in the mid-60s. Wednesday through Friday will be less humid and sunny. High in the mid 80s. Scattered showers and storms become likely after lunch, particularly in the mountains. Highs will be in the mid-80s.

Monday night - Mostly cloudy, with a low around 53.

"Expect rain totals to average 1-3" area wide with much higher isolated totals where storms remain stationary.
