Graco Recalls Car Seats Over Webbing Safety Concerns

Graco Recalls Car Seats Over Webbing Safety Concerns

During a federal test of the individual harness restraint component, the webbing on certain My Ride 65 convertible auto seats did not meet federal requirements for breaking strength.

Popular children's product company Graco is recalling more than 25,000 convertible child restraints due to an issue that can lead to serious injuries to children in the event of a crash.

The company's My Ride 65 convertible vehicle seats failed a crash test run by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The model impacted is the Graco My Ride 65 convertible child restraint.

According to the NHTSA Safety Recall Report, the seats have code 2014/06 on a tag on the harness webbing.

Expected to start July 17, the recall reportedly comes after the NHTSA discovered the webbing problem through a series of tests.

Graco said it will notify owners who are registered owners of the auto seats. Owners can contact Graco customer service at 1-800-345-4109.

The NHSTA says Graco will notify affected owners.
