Kapil Mishra accuses Arvind Kejriwal of money laundering and cheating

Inhis allegation-a-day series, rebel Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Kapil Mishra on Sunday accused Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal and the party of money-laundering using hawala channels and under-reporting donations received by AAP.

Instead of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal coming forward to defend himself against the serious charges leveled against him by his former cabinet colleague, his wife Sunita Kejriwal took the cudgel on Monday and slammed Kapil Mishra saying that he would face the consequences of the false allegations that he has made.

The former water resources and tourism minister in the Delhi government is suffering from "a little weakness and mild dehydration", an RML doctor said. Kapil Mishra claimed that in a meeting with the Anti-Corruption Bureau last week he submitted fresh proofs to support his allegations related to tanker scam. Mishra was sacked May 6 in a sudden move and later was also suspended from the party. He said the party acquired the money through shell companies, fainting soon after his remarks.

ACB chief Mukesh Kumar Meena said that Bibhav Kumar, private secretary to Kejriwal, has been called for questioning on Wednesday in the case.

The AAP has dismissed his charges as a "conspiracy" by the BJP and accused the latter party of shooting from his shoulders. Having already complained to the CBI on May 9 about corruption practiced by Kejriwal, his relatives and some AAP leaders, Mishra said he will be visiting the agency again on May 15 to get another FIR registered against Kejriwal and the legislators whose names have figured in the funding scandal. Mrs Lekhi said, AAP misled public and broke their trust and people of the national capital are fed-up with Delhi government.

Mishra alleged that the AAP had over Rs 45 crore in its account in 2013-2014, but in its declaration to the poll panel it showed only Rs 9 crore, thereby concealing around Rs 36 crore. "Even before joining the party I used to travel overseas". Mishra is also likely to be questioned again on Monday. "Another AK ka heera (another gem from Arvind Kejriwal)".

Mr. Mishra was quick to respond to the barb.
