ICE agents helped in massive gang sweep

In the Houston region, 207 people were arrested - the highest number of any region in the nation, officials said.

Investigators had been watching the house, they said, after reports that it was allegedly being used for sex trafficking.

In all, 1,378 were arrested across the United States, 11 of which were in Oklahoma. Half were federal offenses. Attorney General Jeff Sessions visited the community on Long Island, N.Y. last month where MS-13 is believed to have brutally murdered four teenagers, while Trump has both spoken and tweeted about the group specifically on multiple occasions. "We are not done".

There were 1,378 people arrested and of those, officials say 1,098 were arrested on federal and/or state criminal charges, including 21 on murder related charges and seven for rape and sexual assault charges.

According to ICE, 280 arrests were soley immigration-related. Of them, 112 are gang affiliates, meaning that ICE had verifiable information that the person was associated with a gang.

All members of gangs that Homan calls the biggest threat to America's communities.

The gangs affiliated with the suspects included the Bloods, the Surenos, the MS-13 and the Crips, according to the ICE news release.

"The goal at end of day is to arrest, prosecute, imprison, and deport and remove transnational gang members as well as to suppress violence and prosecute criminal enterprises", Derek Benner, deputy executive associate director of Homeland Security investigations, said at a news conference. In Oklahoma, all 11 were criminal arrests. Two people in the home had outstanding deportation orders, officials said. The rest were detained for alleged civil immigration violations.

Three individuals arrested during the operation previously benefited from the Obama administration's Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals, the release stated.

ICE did not specify the charges the DACA arrestees face, if any.

A majority of the arrests - 933 out of the 1,378 - are US citizens, officials said.

Ten of those arrested were classified as unaccompanied minors who crossed the border illegally.

But not all were accused of being gang members.
