Tekken 7 Producer talks about a possible Nintendo Switch version

Tekken 7 Producer talks about a possible Nintendo Switch version

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Tekken 7, showcasing a selection of characters from the game's expansive roster, including stalwarts like Marshall Law, Feng, Bob, Bryan Fury, Devil Jin and Hwoarang. Because of them, Roger Jr., aka the boxing kangaroo, has been removed from the Western version of Tekken 7.

Tekken's executive producer, Katsuhiro Harada, said the issue with Roger stems from the subsequent sensitivity of animal lovers who viewed a viral video with a real life kangaroo from a few months back.

He claimed that while some people might not even play Tekken, they would inevitably discover a game where someone can punch kangaroos.

Harada went on to say there are "animal activists" today than there used to be. "He's missing!,'" "but up until then, when he is in the game, people are complaining 'Capos are dirty, we hate them!'" For those unaware, Roger Jr. has been a staple character in the series since 1996. Hell, even Farming Simulator has received complaints. Kuma the bear is still in the game, though, because a bear is "obviously stronger than a human being".

That aside, Harada has also opened about the possibility of a Switch port.

"Officially, we can't really comment on that because our company has [a] strict policy about which titles we talk about for Switch", Harada explained to GameSpot. Bandai Namco's latest Tekken launched in Japan over two years ago and is schedule for its North America release in June.
