Facebook to review handling of videos after Cleveland killing

Williams told reporters that the victim's family has reported several bogus GoFundMe accounts and asked that people refrain from contributing to any of them until the Godwins send out official details. Then a scream on the other end. Stephens said in a video on Sunday that he had killed multiple people, but police said there was only one known victim.

Facebook has now taken down the posts, in addition to Stephens's own account, although it took them hours to do so.

Police say Stephens should be considered armed and risky.

A reward of up to $50,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.

He said he hadn't been able to bring himself to view the video, which was taken down by Facebook.

Police said they had received dozens of tips about the possible location of the suspect, Steve Stephens, and repeatedly suggested he turn himself in.

Some of those who know Stephens described him as pleasant and kind, while some said he had a gambling problem.

"We know that Steve is still out there", said Cleveland police Chief Calvin Williams.

"It's very, very hard to hide in our "big brother state" as some would call it today, with all the facial recognition software, all the license plate readers on toll roads", said Burton. Anyone with additional information or tips should dial 1-800-CALL-FBI. And while he has eluded authorities so far, Burton said technological advancements makes it tough to stay off the grid for a long period of time. Police said Steve Stephens killed Godwin on Sunday and posted the video on Facebook. In January, four black people in Chicago were accused of attacking an 18-year-old disabled white man and broadcasting the assault on the social media site while making anti-white racial taunts. "It's actually the users who are exposed to something that they find disturbing, and then they start that process of review", she says.

Authorities were assuming he was still with his vehicle more than 24 hours later, and discounted reports that he might be on the run in Pennsylvania.

"Can you do me a favour?" he said to Godwin before asking him to say the name Joy Lane.

Stephens worked for Beech Brook, a behavioral health agency serving children through mental health services, foster care and adoption, at-risk youth and other programs.

Nancy Kortemeyer, a spokeswoman at Beech Brook, said Sunday night: "We were shocked and horrified to learn of this news today".

Stephens doesn't have a criminal record, police said.

Steve Stephens, 37, is wanted for aggravated murder after he allegedly shot Robert Godwin Sr.

"That man killed my daddy for no reason", said 8-year-old Marsean Robert Godwin, named for his dad. She says he "wasn't harming anyone". "Period", Cleveland's police chief said. His whereabouts are still undetermined at present, although police can confirm that he also murdered another civilian in a residential area on East 93rd Street.

One of Robert Godwin's sons said he was greatly disturbed by how the killer carried out his terrible deed.

"Hi, can you do me a favour?"

They spoke briefly again the next day, his mother said. Police earlier had said that Stephens had broadcast it on Facebook Live.
