Cristie Kerr completes weekend comeback to win LPGA Lotte Championship

The 39-year-old was 16 under over the final 36 holes at the Lotte Championship, closing out a three-shot victory at Ko Olina Golf Club.

She earned $US300,000 ($A395,000) to top $US18 million ($A24m) in her career.

Ko was tied for 7th heading into the final round and posted the round of the day with an eight under par 64 to finish three shots behind the victor American Christie Kerr.

She made six more birdie putts the final round, taking the lead on the 14th hole. "That (first) day and a half that I had struggled a little with my swing feel it was an unbelievable run".

Canada's Alena Sharp, South Korea's Lee Mi-Hyang and Stacy Lewis of the United States are one shot back of the co-leaders at eight-under 136. "I played really good today". They always have been.

"Because I had to finish up the second round this morning and play another 18 I was a little bit exhausted", she said through an interpreter. "I know this course pretty well and I've had some good success here, so being comfortable and confident coming in just really gave me that start that we've been wanting". A pair of bogeys on the front nine kept her out of the lead. "So I've been very excited and just grateful for the opportunity".




Top-ranked Lydia Ko, looking for her first win since July, was tied for seventh at 9 under after a 65. One of the hottest players on the tour over the previous year, Ariya is still looking for her first win of 2017 after a couple of runner-up finishes.

The cut will be determined after the completion of the round Friday morning.

Jang, third on the KLPGA money list in 2016 with two wins on the Korean women's tour, had five-birdies overall in her five-under effort and had a 36-hole total of 134 With the third round due to start later on Friday, she had a one-stroke lead over South Korean Kim In-Kyung and Thailand's Ariya Jutanugarn.

Bjerregaard's adventurous round included an eagle, six birdies, and five bogeys.

Playing her last tournament as a teenager, Ko ensured she will retain the top ranking into her 20s.
