Man dead and three injured in 'targeted' shooting on Atlanta train

One person was killed and three others were injured.

Police said that the suspect began firing on the train around 4:30 p.m. and then exited at the West Lake station, where he was taken into custody.

All of the victims and the perpetrator appeared to be in their 30s, and at least one of the victims was female, according to witnesses. The nature of the attack is yet unclear. "He was shot like he wasn't a human being- like he didn't have a life", said a tearful Sharonda Hunter, the sister of Hunnicutt's girlfriend.

The shooting occurred inside a train heading east toward West Lake station, WGCL reported.

The identities of the other victims in the shooting have not been released.

According to jail records from the Fulton County Sheriff's Office, Daniels was arrested by Hapeville police in 2012 on drug charges as well as possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and obstruction of law enforcement officer.

The transit agency said the station had been temporarily closed.

He said the shooter got on the train just like anyone else: "He was wearing headphones and just bobbing his head".

"MARTA remains committed to the safety and well-being of our customers".

MARTA Police are asking anyone with information regarding this incident contact them at (404) 848-4911.

Parker commended first responders "for their ability to quickly mobilize and isolate (the) situation".

We're thankful for your support in every way.

Hunnicutt's family said they would hold a candlelight vigil at the West Lake MARTA station, where his train was headed, Friday night at 8 p.m.
